In response to "The architecture boat tour was great. I highly recommend it." by CovingtonCat

A couple more notes on the boat tour.

This was the Chicago Architectural Foundation tour. You can get tickets ahead of time on line through Ticketmaster (and probably pay a hefty fee), get them at the CAF store across from the Art Institute, or buy them the day of the tour at the dock at the Michigan Ave Bridge. Our tour was sold out ahead of time. We got the tickets at the store 2 days earlier. Even though the tickets appear to be reserved seating, you can pick your seat. So get there early if you have a preference on the upper level. We were 20 minutes early and the line was very long. All the seats on the upper level along the sides of the boat were taken before we got on. For some reason fewer people wanted to sit on the bow so we got lucky.
