using its network to promote the entire league, so they can afford to burn time on the smaller markets since the dedicated niche audience they have wants it. espn is only in it to sell ads and turn profits for its parent company, so it concentrates its attention on the stuff that gets the best ratings, which is usually in the big media markets. it's just sound business, on both fronts.
