Your "act", no matter how inconsequential you think it was, was an act of taking everyone for a ride, much like the fake car crash "joke" that went over so well a few years back.

We all have a certain bond that we share, and you made a mockery of it, and some of us will not forget that, apology or not. No one wants to feel like an ass because someone played them.
