I've been making it weekly for the last couple of months. so good.
I use half a can of cafe du monde ground coffee, the kind that's in an orange can (I can buy it at a local asian grocery store. I have no idea why they carry it, or some other items. cafe du monde sells it directly, too.)
6 cups cold water.
pour coffee into large bowl (I use glass, but plastic would be non-reactive, too), pour over first two cups of water, stir to wet, add other 6 cups.
put in refrigerator or leave on counter (I cover with plastic wrap) for ~12 hours.
strain through coffee filter (I have a melitta manual drip pot - have had it for years without using it much, yay for a use!) stir ground carefully periodically and press a bit, and 8 melitta-cups of concentrate can come through.
combine half cup concentrate + 8 oz milk (I've splurged and used 1% instead of my usual ff), 2 sweet n lows + 1 splenda packet
pour over ice.
sip though straw (I use a reusable double-walled plastic cup with its accompanying straw) and marvel that something without chocolate can taste mocha-y. yum.
