2001, he bungled the Invasion ... then every storyline since then has been bungled or rushed or rehashed.
Punk's storyline coulda gone months, it was over within 5 weeks. They can't pull the trigger on anything out of fear.
Cena = god, but becuase he makes too much money selling stuff, they can't turn him bad, which would help the product so much....but cost them short-term money.
They lucked into Edge, but then fed him to Cena back in 2005...Punk's never really been given THE chance...Miz was overshadowed by Rock/Cena....
