All those teams I mentioned had a better record then San Diego

besides, the "average" teams and the "great" teams aren't looking so far apart these days.
Responses:
We could expand, add 16 more franchises, and then blow up to a 48 team playoff. Then you'd be sure you had a real champion. -- nm
