too as there must be an awareness that your happiness is being affected ... perhaps trying to stay as positive as you can and gently try to share good things that might help him have a bright spot to think about ... like when there's the ultrasound picture of the baby or reminding him of things he did when you were little that you remember as good that he will be able to do with his grandchild? I don't know - I'm sorry if this isn't helpful - I obviously don't know you or your dad - but I just feel so bad about what you're going through and I just want to try to help.
