Sounded more like quarantine. Time-out definitely is appropriate for biting another kid.

unfortunately, from what i'm reading from quick googles, it seems like isolating is actually recommended to deal with biting in daycare.

from what i'm reading, the isolation is less about teaching the biter, and more about protecting the other kids.
