In response to "i'm wandering around pioneer squre/ at the pergola, where to go for dinner?" by zeitgeist

Go down the side street, toward the water, with the Best Western Pioneer Square. It's just a block long.Right across the street from the hotel is an

awesome Italian place. I can't remember the name of it, but there are 2 or 3 more in the city. One's in the U district right beside the 2 screen theater.

There's another Italian place right beside the Hotel, but it's not as good, imo.

Also, right on the square, there's an old Bar/Restaurant called the New Orleans. Mark and I ate there several times and they have decent cajun/creole food. Finally, if you cut down a side street and cross Alaska highway to the waterfront, there's both an Ivar's walk up fish bar (I suggest the chowder and the fried halibut) and right beside it is a fancy sitdown Ivars. Also, Anthony's Homeport (very very nice) is about a block block north from Ivars. If you want to walk 6-7 blocks north from there, there's an Argentinian steak house (awesome) and Tom Douglas's asian fusion place, The Flying Fish.
