Direct TV just upgraded AMC to hidef. The are doing the same shit as when I had them hidef with TW 3 years ago. widescreen films aired in pan & scan

Yeah, though many cable channels are poor with keeping original aspect ratio. Even HBO cuts wiser 2.35:1 down to 1.78 for most films. -- nm
