You remember the foot injury that kept her out for so long? She dropped out of the big tournament in Cincinnati with an injured toe and said at the time it was similar to the prior one but not necessarily related. I suspect she is at the upper end of her pain threshold from the way she acted the last couple of days. Had the tournament not gotten spread out by the rain, she probably would have had this catch up with her sooner.
