When I was 8 I was left to take care of my 4 year old brother a lot. Have no clue about this era.

Seems like we did so much stuff that kids wouldn't be allowed to do. Like come home from school, cut my own bait, take the boat out fishing, bring the little brother, catch and clean fish. That was 8. At 10 I was going off on weekend camping trips with my friends, the oldest of whom was 12.

One time my parents went back to Panama for two weeks and left me and my brother alone. I was 11 or 12.
