An observation about 9/11 ceremonies/rememberances yesterday. I didn't watch much but when I did watch what I saw bothered me a bit. I know in our

technological age the ability record/take pictures comes so easy. But that is what I didn't like seeing yesterday. So many cameras and phones out recording the event. Particularly after the President laid the wreath at The Pentagon.

To each their own, I know, but to me this was a solemn occasion not a photo op. Live the moment with your own eyes and let your memories record it.

Anyway...I feel the same way when I see parents recording every little thing. I get there is a place for it but take my parents for instance. Always fumbling with their gear. How about just living the moment with your grandchildren instead of being slightly removed from it via a lens?

As for the best of what I saw yesterday. NC Symphony and the NC Master Chorale did a very nice show that was broadcast locally. Wonderful music with readings by members of local interfaith associations and poems, one of which, by Toni Morrison (This Thread) was made into a musical composition. Peaceful.
