In response to "An observation about 9/11 ceremonies/rememberances yesterday. I didn't watch much but when I did watch what I saw bothered me a bit. I know in our " by bc/nc

The only thing I watched was the Mets/Cubs game, and ESPN *almost* got it right, but managed to bungle most of the presentation.

They brought in Bobby Valentine into the booth, as he was the Mets manager when 9/11 happened. MLB choose their marketing agreement with NewEra over a tribute to Emergency responders (ugh).

They brought in Todd Zeile, Mike Piazza and John Franco, all Mets players who, with Bobby V were all deeply involved with volunteer recovery efforts. But despite *repeatedly* hammering home the point of how the game of baseball provided a respite from the grim reality of the tragedy of 9/11, they ironically choose to show the booth talking about 9/11, rather than the actual action on the field. Literally they choose booth camera footage of them talking about the tragedy over live action of the game, not even split screen pictures. There were several outs that were not shown at except in replay because they were showing shots of the booth.
