offer by early October. I should be in Houston by November 1st, as long as I get the job. It sounds like they want me, and we've decided that we're going if an offer is extended.
we're trying now to get the cat portion of our deposit back, since we no longer have cats, and then hopefully won't lose so much if we can't find a subletter for our space.
Although, we'll just eat the deposit if it's more expensive for me to drive to Houston, stay in a hotel for a month, then come back and pack, drive back with my wife (and another month's rent).. yeah.. be cheaper just to skip on that and not worry.
I'm stressing about housing - it's a huge city, and there's a lot to look at.. few houses for rent, mostly apartments.. i have no idea what are the good parts and sketchy parts.. traffic is a concern. hopefully when i go down for the site visit, i'll have a few days to apt hunt and maybe get a 6 month lease so we're not there long in case it's crappy.
