he just sort of developed epilepsy when he was a teenager, not sure how/why. has managed it pretty well for the last 15+ years with meds though

maybe an occasional seizure here or there when he wasn't diligent about medication
their oldest daughter i think tested positive for it also and takes a management dosage of something but i think hers are petit mal and not grand mal
