i talked to a confidant here at work, he said "look, the reason all these projects are bogged down is none of your fault - it's a problem that the company has had for years.. it's a cluster-fuck half the time. take the good money, go with the good company, don't worry about this."
everybody else i talked to said "if it was the same job, same pay, different company, yeah.. kind of screwing them over.. but this is a new job, new company, not even close on the pay - take it"
i also remembered that my boss has no weight in the A/V industry, so the worst that happens is i could never work for this company again.
there's also been some nasty budget-related firings that made me reassess my stance that this company is any different from any other - they'll let you go in a heartbeat if it's good financially.
