like, if you have a bike locked outside you just *assume* it will be stolen eventually, regardless of what or how many locks you throw on it.

at my building, someone has had their bike leaning against the outside handrail, all summer, unlocked. (and, they have a lock, it's just not being used).

now, the entrance is somewhat hidden from the road, but still, it's been sitting out there for months. no-one has touched it.

shocking.

(i'm half convinced it's some psychology experiment.)
