The logic is that running QBs are massive fantasy players. Even if Newton struggles as a starter, he'll still be a decent fantasy play.

Yes, I realize he had 400+ passing yards and less than 20 rushing yards, but the rushing TD plus the rushing is almost 8 points in most leagues. A 300 yard passer is only 15. That's how big a skew a rushing QB creates.

Kim is in an ultra deep keeper league where she finished second last year. I was absolutely flabbergasted that Newton was still on the board when she picked at #11. He has a chance to be a fantasy anchor for the next fifteen years.
