Joe basically said that The Gathering happens every few thousand (I think) years and whittles down the immortalls running around...

The producers have said that the 1st Highlander and the tv show are basically alternate universes...so while the movie events DID happen in the tv universe the finality of Connor being the last one-ending of the 1st movie was not quite what happened in the tv universe...

a little of the cover your ass there from the producers...which I was fine with as an explanation...

but movie 4 was the TV universe on the big screen
