is that you can get up for one game against an SEC opponent. What is night and day harder is playing against SEC competition for 8 games (plus the conference championship game if you're elite). UT plays Georgia, LSU, @Alabama, and South Carolina in October. Then, they get a week against MTSU before playing @Arkansas. It's relentless.

It's fairly obnoxious when SEC players say that the conference championship game is harder than the national title game, but most of them seem to believe it's true.
