Several counties here have stopped sounding sirens for severe thunderstorm warnings because no one paid attention.

Now when they go off I know there's a tornado warning but I don't know, until I seek further info, if it's near me. *All* the sirens in the county go off together but a storm could be miles south of me, moving east and not a threat where I am.
People are on their own if it's just a bad thunderstorm.
