And actually your post did make me think of Cylons and how that all turned out badly in a 'life imitating art' kind of way and how that's scary and we should beware of walking down that path. So my post was jokey, but as cautionary humor. I don't necessarily see the humor as 'knee-jerk' or casually dismissing of the subject.
