I'm really fascinated by the concept of TINY URL and the genius who came up with it.

I know it's not new and I used it a lot maybe five or six years ago... just has come back to the forefront by using/reading Twitter feeds and I realized what a brilliant idea because this site is basically getting INSANE amount of traffics by just redirecting people through their site to other places. Check out their Alexa traffic ranking (linked... with a TIny URL of course)... That's something like 20 million or more unique visitors a month, between going there to shrink URL's and "just passing through" on the way to the redirected URLs.
I just wonder how long all those Tiny URLs are stored... with six characters using letters and numbers that's probably trillions of combinations but that info still has to be stored somewhere... and what if they lose their database?
