I think it's the most real (gay*) romance film I've seen.

*I put an asterisk on gay because, while the characters are gay, I think much of it could relate just as easily to a non-gay relationship. (Of course, there's some gay-specific items,)
It's not rosy and land-of-make-believe happily-ever-after, but it's all no tragedy. Somehow, gay films (and romance films in general) seem to be one or the other. It's much more basic and human and life-like and just real. It's downright believable.
It's mumblecore, really, and there's lot of just talking (it's not really soft-core at all, there's very little of that). It's just two very real characters talking and being very real. I found it utterly refreshing.
