What sucks about measuring players by playoff stats is that it's a small sample size and they are usually facing the best pitching staffs. -- nm

This is true for most players, and others are probably on the decline when the sample size is large enough.

NFL scouts have had this same problem with QBs. Projecting who can handle the limelight of being The Guy on an NFL team in a major city is impossible.
