Sometimes (well, sometimes a lot more than others) I really hate family law cases.

A new client just came in, she's been going through a custody dispute with her ex, a soldier, and she wants to limit her exes time with their son because he's set to be deployed again in 4 months because she doesn't want her son "bonding" too much with the dad.
Now I didn't hear everything, but enough to know that the dad has been previously deployed, and due to this, and obvious issues with the mom, he doesn't seem to have had a lot of contact with his son (I think he's also been stationed in another state)...
I know there's the possibility that there's more to this than I heard, and maybe he's a not nice guy, but with what I did hear it was hard for me not to say "How dare you keep a father, who wants to see more of his son, from his son, when he's deploying in a few months. You bitch!" (ok, i'd never really say that to a client, obviously.) Still...I thought it. Really loudly!
