but that's the thing - how does the management company not have some system in place where they have to get the owner's guarantee that the house will

be available before offering it?
i mean, like having the owner be liable if they reneg.

for no other reason, it's the property manager, not the owner, that would have to tell the (irate) customer that the house they thought they had isn't available.
