and that sucks as much as when most democrats cross lines only if they're in at-risk seats. I thought we were talking about regular people, though,

iirc, in the 2008 election, ~10% of registered republicans voted for obama.
I'm not sure what the numbers were for california's last governor's race, but I know a number of people who usually prefer reps for governor who voted for brown.
if you have a bad rep. candidate and/or a better dem., it can happen.
