David is right that the article on Boston's smear campaign traditions is really interesting.

It's almost like the top brass has it set in their head that the team and the brand is more important to the fans than any one guy in the clubhouse. And when things go wrong, it's their way of reminding the players to shape the fuck up in a way that a modern manager maybe struggles to these days.
