to Andie and mara from b2, the reason why ideally the babe will start off in her own room

is because Jeff and I are both very light sleepers and we worry we won't get *any* sleep at all if she's in our room. also, I totally understand that it might be easier to nurse with the baby right next to the bed but I'm terrified I'll fall asleep with the baby in the bed.

I feel like the crib (with a motion sensor/video/sound monitor) is the safest/best place.

*But* like I said we're not making a definite decision either way until we get the kid home. because yeah, I especially might not be able to handle being that far from her (thought she'd be right across the hall). I might need to hear her every little sound and be able to check on her a mere foot away in order to relax.

For us it's kind of one of those things where we need to figure it out when the time comes. Just like the going-back-to-work thing ... hard to know what you want to do until you're in it.
