financial responsibility is an important thing. that doesn't mean someone has to be wealthy, but lack of responsibility with money can be a sign of other areas that aren't so good for relationships.
if there are tradoffs that work for a particular couple, awesome; but when things turn into sort of parent and child, or there's other growth of resentment, so not good.
