Oddly, I get the sense that this is a mass colon cleansing of winning. There was a sense after '04 of "What Now?"...

We've sort of gone along for 8 years not really comfortable with being perennial contenders. I think Red Sox fans are so used to being the Lovable Losers that we sort of just steer in that direction naturally, without thought.

Then again...I am talking to the Enemy about this.
