unless that zombie had heard a sound there was no reason for it to enter the camper other than to create that situation for dramatic tension. And the woman was just moronic. Say she fixes her gun and shoots him, the hundreds who just walked by would all turn around and return...
And the survivors couldn't have been dumber unless they had actually started shooting off fireworks right before the first of the herd was spotted.
