Not in the dark. Maybe if all your hunters and trackers are equipped with night vision, but that isn't the case.

So you tranq it, now you have to hunt it down, hoipe it doesn't freak out on you.
Killing is only preferred here because the alternative won't work. Ideally these animals never should have been in private hands where this could happen. But that ship has sailed. Now human safety trumps all else.
These animals aren't loose in an unpopulated area. It's rural, but there are plenty of people living out there and these are animals that probably do not have much fear of humans.
