They tend to come from indiscriminate breeders who don't bother to track bloodlines or keep records.

So, yeah, they are a member of a dwindling species, but can't be used to repopulate.

        plus as TWuG said, inbreeding is a huge problem. In breeding programs they do scrupulous genetic studies before breeding any pair. -- nm - loosilu Oct 19, 10:47
