If my unborn child is a girl, she has six million eggs developed already on this, her 21st week of development. By birth, it will only be one million.

Learning this information this morning begged two logical questions:

1) Where do they go?

2) What evolutionary function required they be produced in the first place if lost before birth? Throwback to our fish days?
