In response to "No word yet from Covington Cat on today's departure and travel? -- nm" by JenBro

Not much to report.

Got to Marshall, toured the Honolulu House. Kind of disappointing in that there's little in the house from the original owner and I discovered a later owner sold off the bedrooms as scrap because she became destitute (which seemed to be a common thread with the ownere - maybe the first owner brought back a Hawaiian curse). Drove around a little bit but I've been to Marshall twice before and already have lots of pictures.

Drove into downtown Battle Creek. There's been some new construction since my last visit but it's still pretty close to being a ghost town. The Post & Kelloggs office towers standing all by themselves were creepy-looking. Stopped in at the visitor's center because they advertised some Kelloggs souvenirs. Not much there although they did have a couple small rooms with memorabilia.

Checked into the hotel then went to the casino. Jen, I think you'd like this one. It's much, much bigger than Odawa. I got 29 free games on the Beachcomber & walked away from it ahead nearly $20. They had some of the the other machines you like, too. The buffet was very good, although expensive ($19.95 before the $4 discount for having a casino card). The noise level was pretty high but that added to the excitement. Twice someone near us hit big, once for $1200 and then for $1400. You always hear about winners but usually don't see them. We didn't walk away winners but the loss wasn't too bad.

It's still raining but we're hoping it eases up when we get to the cemetary. Apparently you can't drive directly to the gravesite.

There's a possibility we may stop at Jungle Jim's on the way back. Need anything?
