instead of buying my immediate family (5 people including me) individual tickets, i want to buy us all tickets to see War Horse next spring.
If you got a theatre ticket for a pre-determined date in the future instead of, say, slippers or a sweater, that would be cool, right?
i really think this is a good idea (my family like lives performance stuff), plus, it pretty much takes care of 75% of my christmas shopping with one click of the mouse.

Semi-related. Within 15 seconds of the trailer to that when my wife and I saw 50/50 on Friday, she said "Horses. Spielberg. I'm there."

Sure, provided you know the recipients won't have conflicts with the date. -- nm

I am a total believer in 'experience gifts' for when I gift buy for adults now. So few people need more stuff. -- nm
