Snow Crash is on a short list of books I've started and, for some reason, just sorta stopped reading.

Not a conscious choice to give up, it just happened and I haven't gotten back to it.
Locke Lamora is also on that list.
As is Neverwhere (twice).
Some of the books I've come to love most started out that way -- a misfire on first read, and then a restart some time (months, years) later, so I haven't given up
