That would be better. Trains never take long unless it's late at night or there's trouble on the line.

Most trains come every 10 minutes, give or take a few minutes. I've never thought it was something that we needed. I can see it being useful if there is trouble on the line and/or they need to alert passengers about something.
Otherwise just wait a few minutes and the train will be there. If it was outside then people would be able to grab a cab or take a bus instead of wasting their fare before finding out there's trouble with the line.
