the problem is the controller isn't his boss, technically. he, on paper, reports only to the owners. so i think he thinks sucking up to them is what needs to happen and everyone else be damned. what he *doesn't* get is how nice the owners are and how they won't put up with someone annoying their long term staff.

they are super big on respect.
