Newsstand is just a folder dedicated for all magazine apps. Each app behaves in its own way. And figuring out how to get your subscription into the app is an exercise in customer service roulette. I got my Disney's Family Fun subscription activated on the app after I contacted the magazine and asked and they told me to contact the app developer (I didn't, yet there it is).
Can't figure out how to get my Sound & Vision activated on their app, but if I use the Zinio app, I can get it there. Two different apps for accessing the same content.
This Old House mag doesn't appear to have a digital version. And I'm still working on Zinio to get them to give me my Maxim.
