I don't torrent much of anything these days thanks to that site I mentioned. I'd say 95% of the time I'm downloading from Megaupload or a similar site. Occassionally I'll use the Firefox extension download helper to grab something that's streaming on a site.
I would make some changes if I got letter in the mail. From what I've read, Verizon doesn't give out their customers info but they may deal with the issues themselves with letters hoping to stop the activities.
