STIS: Is car insurance tied to a driver, or to car?

I don't own a car. I don't have car insurance as a result.

But sometimes I drive. It could be a friend's car, or a rental car. Am I supposed to have insurance for these cases? Can you even get insurance without telling them what car you 'own'?

there are two parts, liability coverage covers the driver, comprehensive/uninsured covers the car. -- nm - znufrii Oct 26, 08:58
