I had the worst bar conversation last night...

My wife and I are at a nice little beer bar. We see a business man wander on to the patio around 7:30. I motion for him to have a seat and we start talking.

He was a German guy, been in the US for a number of years, traveled a lot. We talked for a few hours and he ends with this story:

A few years ago, he used to be a regular at a bar. There was a guy there who would always annoy him. He hated the guy. One night, he told him to stop talking to him and just leave the bar. On the way home, the annoying guy got mugged and shot in the head. So German guy goes to the wake out of guilt. He met the parents of the guy who were so excited he was there. The annoying fellow considered the German guy to be one of his best friends, would tell the parents about him all the time. German guy said he hated him, but he couldn't tell the parents.

He then just sat there and stared off for a while. Then he shook our hands, and left.
