He has to do whatever he can to deflect the fire & brimstone when Brandon finds out he had the idol all along.
And while the forced prayer after the challenge was pretty disgusting it paled before the fake prayer before the idol was "found". Coach deserves to lose just for that. I'm not a religious person but to use someone else's faith that way was despicable.
