On the first day of class, the instructor asked as all what we hoped to get out of the class. My answer?

I was at the level of cluelessness where I didn't know what I didn't know.
At the end, I was very glad we took it.
We had written a birth plan as part of the class. It definitely helped us think through what we wanted. It helped us communicate our desires to the midwives. And, when things got hairy just before and after delivery, we didn't have to think about what to do. We had already decided (I went to the intesive care with our baby; our doula stayed with my wife).
And, it definitely helped us to have a drug-free labor and delivery.
Also, we are still friends with some of the parents from that class.
