they've made 3 hires in 50 years...Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin...they hire smart, and they don't panic.
The Cardinals hired smart with Tony, Jocketty and Duncan, they got fortunate with Albert and some other personel and they have a rabid fanbase.
You give smart people resources, you'll find success imo. You give decent people more resources, you'll find success. You give dumb people any resources, you'll find limited success.
See, the Mets, the Orioles, the Redskins.
