I'd probably laugh as I explained to my kid why it was inapporpriate.

"watch your language when in school."
Our kids are told words like "stupid" and "drugs" are bad words, but I don't think they grasp the concept of how they're inappropriate.
*something* can be stupid, but you don't call *someone* stupid.
